RECIPES & SITE INFORMATION
A few notes about the recipe collection.
How to use this collection, what the photos show, and what to check before cooking.
Meal ideas, with room for judgment.
Supper on Slow is a growing collection of recipes and practical meal-planning ideas. New recipes may be added over time; ingredient amounts, techniques, and serving suggestions are specific to each recipe.
We haven’t kitchen-tested these recipes. Use the instructions as a starting point, and check temperature and tenderness with your own ingredients and cooker. Prep times, cooking times, and serving sizes are estimates. Results are not guaranteed. Read the terms and recipe disclaimer.
About the recipe archive
Recipe archive dates are editorial dates assigned to organize this collection across the year. They do not indicate when a page was first published or kitchen-tested.
Ingredients and substitutions
Check product labels every time if you are managing an allergy or intolerance. Soup, gravy mix, BBQ sauce, broth, rolls, and Worcestershire sauce can contain ingredients that are not obvious from their names. Swapping ingredients may change flavor, texture, and cooking behavior.
Low-sodium broth helps balance the prepared ingredients. Season individual adult portions at the table if needed. Read the cut-specific notes before substituting lean pork for pork shoulder.
Batch sizes and shopping lists
Each recipe opens at its base batch unless you have changed it in this browser. Adjustments multiply ingredient quantities only. The shopping list combines matching ingredients in the same units and separates optional extras. Round packages up when shopping; use only the measured recipe quantity.
The shopping list does not include side dishes or every optional splash of broth used to loosen a sauce. Check what you already have before buying.
Photos are serving inspiration.
Photos are illustrative examples, not photos of test batches made from these exact recipes. Some recipes share a representative gravy-bowl photo. The pulled-pork image is an illustration. Your finished dinner will look different.
